Since 1984, award winning Ottawa artist, Richard Bond, has been creating unique, original artworks utilizing multi-coloured opaque glass as the medium for his artistic expression.

This unusual art form, pioneered by the artist, combines sandblasting techniques to carve away the surface of the glass to create tactile, dynamic images.

Richard’s artworks are often inspired by the natural landscape and may be representational or non representational.

For more than 30 years Richard has exhibited his work across North America and his artworks may be found in government, corporate, and private collections around the world.

In the spring of 2010 Richard was honoured when he was chosen by the Government of Canada to create a selection of artworks for presentation as gifts to the world leaders attending the G-20 Summit in Toronto.

For the past 10 years Richard has been, almost exclusively, exhibiting his artworks at art festivals in the United States.

He is delighted to be back participating in the West End Studio Tour for the first time in many years.
